Safety first
Snow and avalanches are the most important things to understand. Always check varsom.no before a tour, and choose terrain according to conditions. As a beginner, it is safest to go with a guide who knows where and when it is safe.
Why a guide?
A guide teaches you technique on the way up, how to read the terrain and how to use the avalanche gear. You get a safer tour and learn more in one day than in many seasons on your own.
