Up close with the birdlife of the Trondheimsfjord
Tautra is one of the Trondheimsfjord's protected Ramsar sites, with teeming birdlife and views all the way to Trondheim. From the bird tower we see everything from mallards and long-tailed ducks to yellow-billed loons, and with a bit of luck sea eagles.
The guide knows what is worth looking out for and helps you recognise the species. You get a bird checklist to take home, and you do not need your own binoculars.

The guide meets you at the car park and walks with you to the bird tower. The tour normally lasts 1.5 hours and can be extended.

At the car park on Tautra. From there we walk together to the bird tower.
Which birds can we see?
Mallards, eiders, long-tailed ducks and yellow-billed loons are common, and sea eagles often appear. What you see depends on the season.
Can the tour be combined with something else?
Yes. Klostergården and Mariaklosteret are a stone's throw away, and the tour can be combined with a RIB trip around Tautra or the history tour Frosta: Viking Laws, Churches & Monasteries.
