In short:

  • November and December: Christmas parties in a boathouse.
  • February to April: Expedition Trøndelag with a pulk.
  • Winter is calm, bright and beautiful by the fjord.

Winter on Frosta is quiet and bright. The fjord lies still, snow covers the fields, and there is little traffic. It is a great time for those who want to get away from the city without travelling far.

Christmas party in a boathouse

In November and December the boathouses on Frosta become Christmas party venues with long tables, sheepskins and candlelight. We pick you up by RIB or bus in Trondheim, and Mor og Far serves a traditional Christmas dinner. Read more about Christmas parties in a boathouse on Frosta.

Expedition with a pulk

From February to April we run Expedition Trøndelag: three days from Meråker to Levanger with skis, pulk and tent. You learn to navigate, cook on a stove and sleep outdoors in winter.

Summit hike

When the snow has settled, it is time for guided ski touring in Trøndelag. Suitable for beginners who want to learn with an experienced guide.

Quiet days

Take a walk along the causeway to Tautra, see the fjord in winter light and feel the calm. Clear winter evenings can also bring northern lights over the fjord.
