Two farms, two different experiences
For generations Frosta has supplied food to Trøndelag, earning the nickname “Trondheim’s kitchen garden”. We work with two farms that each show a different side of rural life.
On the Hojem Gård the animals take centre stage, with sheep cuddling and farm activities. At Nygården we go on a field safari and a cider orchard walk, and finish with cider, sauna and local stories. You can choose one of the farms or combine both.

Arrive by RIB from Trondheim
Make it a full day: we pick you up by RIB in central Trondheim and cross the fjord. The boat docks at Mostad quay, right by Nygården.

How much does the farm experience cost?
From NOK 1,500 per person. At Nygården, cider tasting and sauna are included. If you combine both farms, you will get a combined offer.
Which farm suits us?
Hojem Gård suits those who want to meet the animals and be active, for example families and school classes. Nygården suits those who want a field safari, a cider orchard walk, cider and sauna, for example companies and groups of friends. You can also combine both.
How many people can join?
Groups are 4 to 12 people. Larger groups can get a quote on request.
What should we wear?
Dress for the weather, as we spend a lot of time outdoors. If you are visiting Nygården, bring swimwear and a towel for the sauna.
Where are the farms?
Both are on Frosta, about 45 minutes from Trondheim Airport Værnes and an hour from Trondheim. Hojem Gård is in Hojem, in the east of the peninsula. Nygården is near Mostad, where the RIB from Trondheim docks.
Is it suitable for companies?
Yes. The farm visit is popular as a company outing, client event and team building, and can be combined with a RIB trip, bird safari or dinner in the boathouse.
